How to best remove Headlight Bearings

Is there a best practice to remove those large ball bearings on the headlight shafts. They all seem to be frozen on there pretty good.

BTW, are the headlight buckets on a '67 aluminum or pot metal?

Soak them in penetrating oil for a loooong time. Try to get them to turn first then pull on 'em. They are hollow, and they'll dent or distort. So don't pry directly against them with any tools. Be patient. Good luck.

You are not likely to get them off in one piece anyway, so just cut them off. This will leave the brass sleeve of a bearing still on the shaft. split the sleeve to relieve it from the shaft. Replace with the new plastic bearings.
