    62 Delco anomaly

    I just picked up an original 62 2174 250/300 HP generator. It's older than dirt, and not from some one who would have any idea about numbers, repro tags, etc. It came off a car he owned eons ago.
    Everything is correct--EXCEPT--the tag is a black Delco tag, not red. We all know that generators got red tags, starters got black. This is from the factory!
    (Reminds me of the summer I was a Coca-Cola route man, and pulled the bottle that had the Blatz beer cap on the coke bottle)
    This is one of those tough things to allow for on the judging field!

    Generator didn't 62 use a Alternator ??

      Roy, 1963 was first year for altenator on Corvette
