1957 Scam *** Beware ***

I found a 1957 restored vette for $16,000 on the internet. The car was supposedly in Athens Greece. The seller had pictures, Virginia title and a Greek id which was emailed to me. They wanted a $4000 deposit (US) to ship the car via Western Union. Through investigating I found the "seller" was in Nigeria and the whole deal was a scam. The seller was "Mary Guy" and was selling the car becuase her daughter needed surgery. The seller was calling me on the TTY line, so I never spoke to them directly. This is illegal if the are not hearing impaired.

If the deal is too good to be true, it most likely is...

The method for contacting them privately can be used to gain access to your account. Then they use your account for such frauds.

same experience here in the Netherlands. We see this a lot; cars are mostly in Germany, UK or indeed Greece. Same stories (brother died and I selling it for him etc.). It's all #$%^&*. Avoid and report to local authorities I would say.
