I need sources for my winter project, renewing all four brakes. I need recommendations for sources of 1955 wheel cylinders and bonded brake shoes. I'd like to use cylinders with the same appearance as the originals, but I'd settle for at least being able to use original style bleeder valves. What are y'all's preferences?

Re: C1 brake question…
If your cylinders are not pitted rebuild them.
Get rivitted brakes -Chevy guys have them.
If you get newer cylinders just use your old bleeders
Brake lines, cylinder, and pads same as early Chevy- Top

There's two reasons I…
am looking for bonded shoes:
1) Thats what it came with.
2) My Dad would roll over in his grave if I ever put riveted shoes on "his" car. He hated riveted shoes.
I have a set of front shoes he bought maybe 30 years ago and never used. No rears, though.
I don't have much hope the cylinders aren't pitted, there was gunk coming out when I bled them last summer, the LF is an ORIGINAL cylinder, and it stuck on my last joyride this fall. The other three cylinders are non-original.- Top

Re: C1 brake question…
You can get a kit from Performance Suspension Technology (PST) for $120.00 to $140.00 depending on weather you want wheel cylinders or rebuild kits. The basic kit comes with four wheel cylinder kits, master cylinder kit, four sets of shoes, hold down hardware and return springs, and three new brake hoses. Shipping is also included. The quality is good and I've used the kit on two of my cars. The hoses won't pass judging but if your not worried about that it's a bargin. Rich #2276- Top
