hood latches, were they installed by the General or by Bubba? The rubber part is a piece of vacuum hose about 1-1/4" long on the spring where it contacts the arm (both latches). I think the only purpose it serves is to add tension to the spring. Was the rubber in place from the factory or should I be ordering new springs? Thanks again. Pat G.
