Occasionally I hear/read about updated information/additions/corrections that may find it's way into the next updated TIM & JG. Not knowing the time span between new edition publications, is there a source at NCRS where the category of any forthcoming addition/update is registered? If so, is this information available prior to the release of a new edition. I'm thinking not...but I'm still curious?

Re: Updates to TIM & JG (1973-1974)
The National Team Leaders have responsibility for maintaining their respective JG books. The timing of new release is coordinated based on content significance. If there's a given issue you have questions about, a call or letter to the NTL can usually resolve it.
From time to time, NTL's have issued 'errata' memos to address isolated cases where errors of omission/errors of commission are known and those could be significant to the judging outcome. However, this is the exeception rather than the rule as most JG books are mature enough that changes from one revision to the next basically improve upon existing knowledge vs. radically change/alter what's already known.... -
