Does anyone know what happen to Country Corvette that was in Kansas. Did they go out of business? Do they exist in another capacity? Thanks, Terry

I don't know if they're still around or not. However, I can tell you that it was Country Corvettes and the owner's name was Joe Malicke. Their phone number as of 1996 is or used to be (913) 886-7531 and their street address was R.R. 1, Box 159, Nortonville, KS 66090-9744.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Part number 4770719 plug.
Joe, I am trying to find a source for this small screw cover, referred to as a plug. The part number is 4770719. Country Corrvette used to carry them. Do you have any ideas. Chevrolet changed the part number for them and I ordered some but they were not what the original item was. The item slipped over the threads to protect anyone from getting scratched when reaching under the headlight cover. Thanks for the information, Terry- Top

Re: County or Country Corvette in Kansas?
The year is my 1968 coupe. I think the idea was this. The operators manual shows how you can reach in and lift the headlight manually. To do this a person would reach in through the center opening of the headlight shield and push the lid up. In that position there is a sharp screw that sticks out and you could potentially cut your finger on it. So, the assembly manual shows a cap to blunt the point of the screw. I am looking for that small cap that slid on the threads to blunt the point. I have seen them on very few cars that were unrestored. I believe they may have been real small little cap plugs that simply slid over the tops of the exposed threads. Thanks, Terry- Top

Re: County or Country Corvette in Kansas?
Joe, I found that the same part number/item was used in I believe early 60's corvette's to hold the door weather strip on. It seems that the reproduction part is very acceptable and looks identical to the original item. I ordered some from Pacific Corvette in Oregon. I get a kick out of finding stuff out like that. I wonder if the judges ever check for those little things. Thanks, Terry- Top
