    66 Wiper Blades

I am looking for Trico wiper blades #3888296 for my May 66. Does anyone have a suggestion of where to find a pair (original or NOS)? Is there a current reproduction that will pass judging out there? I see LIC has "dull" blades for a 67, were 66 and 67 blades the same?

    Thanks for your help.

Early 66 were high polish and then changed over to the brush finish. Not sure when during the model year was the change over. They should also only have Trico on the ends. Replacements have Trico made in USA. You can find them on ebay too.

I have a june "66" and it has the Satin finish arms and blades. The change from polished appeared to happen the beginning of Feb.Production 1966.

I have seen several nice used pairs of wiper blades on Ebay going from 30 to 40 dollars. The arms are harder to find in Satin as I just bought a pair of NOS Arms in the boxes for......never mind I must of had a Miller too many at the time.

Rob - The TRICO wiper blade assemblies used in late 1966 production are the same as used in early 1967 production w/ the peaked or inverted "V" configuration to the holders and TRICO stamped on each end of the holder. Later 1967 production TRICO holders may have TRICO and MADE IN USA stamped on each end of the holder. In addition to TRICO wiper blade assemblies, 1966 and 1967 Corvettes also came eqipped with ANCOs. The ANCOs also had the peaked or inverted "V" configuration holders but were basically a non- serviceable assembly in that the refills were difficult to replace and not available as a SERVICE part from Chevrolet unlike the Latch-Lock TRICO refills. Both the TRICOs and ANCOs used in 1966 and 1967 had the "dull" finish.

The blade assembles available from LIC from what I have seen are a later configuration but functional TRICO wiper blade. This holder configuration has basically 5 sides with a flat center portion then a curved upper side portion and then a flat lower side part. All of these holders typically have TRICO and MADE IN USA stamped on the ends.

Both the "correct" TRICOs and ANCOs show up at swap meets and on Ebay. Since they fit '67 Corvettes also be sure to have a good grip on whatever when they give you the price. Pete
