    1963 Question

    Hi,
Was GM casting blocks in 1963 on Saturday? I have a block which is D203...April 20, 1963 was a Sat.

    Please advise.

    Jerry----

GM plants often work Saturdays, including in days-of-old. I would not be a bit surprised if the Saginaw Gray Iron foundry was in operation on Saturday 4/20/03. Besides, you've got the proof of it.

GM plants are rarely, if ever, in production on Sundays, though.

I used to call on that plant to sell them items. They were running 3 shifts a day, 7 days a week pouring 8,000 blocks a shift in the mid 70's. I assuming they did this in the 60's as well.
