    69 lower steering column pics

I'm having a hard time determining the proper finishes for the various parts that make up the steering column section from the rag joint to the firewall. Would someone be able to send me pics of a properly restored or mint original area of this column so that I could use it as a reference?
If pictures are not possible then could someone list the proper finishes for the parts in this column section for me?

    Thanks Greg

I am familiar with 68 mostly but a lot of the colums were similar in appearance. I have worked on and seen a lot of early chevrolet's. I suspect the main shaft will be natural in color. The ragjoint will be natural. The mast jacket will be semigloss black. There maybe a little spring at the end near the ragjoint, it was gray or black phosphate. I believe the clamp was natural (above the rag joint). The clamp bolt probably was plated but I am uncertain (probably black). The bolts that screwed through the firewall were mostly black phosphate. Not an expert, just trying to help you out. Terry

If your interior color is other than black, I believe the few inches of the mast jacket that are visible in the engine compartment will be interior color. You might want to wait for others to comment on this, if it applies to you, in order to be sure.
