Do these parts have a shelf-life? I ask because I'm getting the Joe Lucia syndrome-I don't need one now but am sure I will sometime in the future! I've been told that heater cores are all foreign made these days. I have an opportunity to purchase an older Made In U.S.A. NOS part now vs. buying a newer foreign made part later . A local radiator shop mentioned that the acids used in flux can erode such parts when they aren't used. Is corrosion "in the box" really an issue? I would think manufacturers would consider this and take appropriate action but....

Re: C3 heater core-is there a shelf life???
i bought a dozen midyear heater cores over 20 years ago from delco and have been using them troublefree since. i'd think the mfgr would rinse the finished cores to neutralize the flux before packing them. local radiator shops sure do. if you can't get a made in usa critter, try local radiator shop. they buy "blocks" of heater core material and cut the block, to length, and re-solder your end tanks to the new core. lot cheaper than an ebay nos that may or may not be a Harrison original. good luck, mike- Top
