what is a 60 Vette good for ??

Back in the days when NCRS members drove their Corvettes to be judged and took just a few parts to sell, we never saw a Corvette being trailered!
Dam ! it was fun back then and us old farts were so young.

I miss that $1200.00 dollar vett

Ray, when I see your name on a post, I'm always excited to see what new visual treat you have for us. ;-) I'm 40. While I wouldn't wish my life away, I'm jealous of the great car years that some of you guys grew up during. Sure, I has a '69 Camaro at 16, but I was the red-neck car guy. Gas was starting to get expensive, so a lot of the muscle cars had already started disappearing... to where I have no idea, other than the fact that cars driven daily rusted out pretty quickly in those days. Anyway, keep these great posts coming!

It's funny how we think. I was in college in the late 60's/early 70's and worked at a Shell station. We had several vette customers that wanted luggage racks installed on their vettes. I never had a problem drilling the holes but I could not bring myself to install a trailer hitch on a vette. I also remember walking away from buying a 59 black two top with silver coves and red interior vette for $1,400 because it had a trailer hitch on it. It was a 4 speed and had 2x4's with solid lifters. It still hurts when I think about it. Hope you have many more great trailering experiences.

In 1963 I looked at two vettes. One was a 61 for 2150 and the other was a 57 for 1350. I chose the 57 because it drove better and was tighter then the 61. When I went to make the purchase the salesman would not sell me the car. I resented it for years until I grew old enough to realize that the salesman had more sence than my mother. I was 18 and I'm pretty certain that with that car I would have killed myself.

I wish I had a picture of the time I hauled a roto tiller in my 60 about 30 years ago. It was stripped of paint and the trunk lid was off. What a sight it must have been. Don H.
