    1960 soft top weatherstripping

I have been trying to figure out exactly how the softtop weatherstrip that goes between the deck lid and the bottom frame of the soft top frame is supposed to be attached to the frame. When I bought my car last year this weather strip was worn out and loosely attached to the frame with a bunch of rusty staple looking contraptions.

The top needed work and I bought the full weatherstripping kit. At the time the convertible repair service said they did not think that staples were the correct attachment method but when I got the car back the stripping was again attached to the fiber material inside the top frame with staples. This worked for about a month and now the weatherstrip is hanging of the bottom on one side.

How is this large piece of weatherstrip supposed to be attached and does anyone know a good shop in the lower San Francisco Bay that knows something about our cars?

Should have a couple of little screws at each end to hold it.

Roy, are there 2 screws on each side? Or 1 screw on each side? What are the approximate locations of the screws from the ends of the rear bow? Since I already have the rear bow weatherstrip stapled in place, will I even be able to see where to install the screws? Do the screws go into the fiber tack strip and into the rear bow? Or just into the tack strip?

OH boy I think there are two, the rear outer ends in the bow, it's fine taped at each end, not in the tack strip. Use a little ice pick and you may locate them, please let me know .
