    Wont your response welcomed

The lady up the road bought this 57 Black no option ( no radio, heater, courtesy lights, nothing) Base engine , 3 speed and never touched Corvette NEW.
What I wont to show is the paint margins of the black body and red interior which few people have seen or know how to do.
Of real interest is the original soft top header weatherstripping I've talked about for years that NO one repro's correctly which my 57 also had and was told was wrong.
It's a one piece unit starting from the center side windows , cloth covered from the window to the start of the header, then rubber is a soft sponge rubber along the header that also has a round soft sponge rubber FILLER that helped seal the header to the windshield.
This was true from 56 to 59 Corvette plus the top assy are all the same also, then a design change in 60 to 62 which is now what you see on all vetts today that is wrong.Your comments please.

            Re:67 coupe paint lines-original

            Hey Roy,

I'm heading out to the ranch tomorrow to cover up parts for the rains coming our way. My car has never been touched on the interior, with its #450 Blue/White color combo. I will take some pics of the door jambs and pinch welds of how original cars looked when they left the factory. I'll post them Wednesday afternoon.

Roy, I am very interested in the photos that you have on some of this stuff. Do you have additional pictures of the front header w/s, side w/s, deck lid and the paint margins on the door jambs? What is the upper left photo of? I can't for the life of me make out what that is witht he exception of the seat cushion/seams. Thanks. If you want to take this off board please feel free.

Thanks for the question . Wish more people would ask. This pic. is a better look at HOW the 56 to 59 Corvette soft top header weatherstripping Originally IS. The round filler piece needs cutting off , but shows the ONE piece unit, Not clearly shown is the cloth covering above the window area were it connects to the corners. I hear people say how the soft top leaks at the header , it's because no one sells the right ones and they are missing the round filler.
About the pic. you ask, it's the soft top lid center area where the two rubber bumpers are to show how the BLACK body color meets the RED interior color.
Also showing is the door area ( see the interior door button ) and how the paint margin is done again.
                    Thanks for being interested .

Roy, foregive me for being so dense, but are you saying that the original header w/s was a one piece unit that went completely across the header, rounded the corner and went rearward over the first window bracket? And that the portion over the window was cloth covered (which I knew)? Was the header w/s also cloth covered? If this is correct, how far back did the one piece unit w/s go rearward? The illustration you provided looks like what I have described above. Can you be clearer on the "round filler piece needs cutting off" comment please? Thanks

Gerry Thanks for asking , always nice to have some one ask questions from the norm.
"Yes" it was a ONE piece unit, "no" the rubber across the header was not cloth covered , "yes" the weatherstripping started at the center window area or where the top assy folds above the window. "Yes" the round filler came a little long to be trimmed at the dealer making sure of fit water tight. Again 56 to 59 were all the same. In 60 a second design came in. Hope I said this OK I'm not that good some times explaining my self. And "no" it's not judged (yet)
