I am looking to buy a carb for my car with the correct #. I want to avoid a restamp carb, if any of you guys know of those restamps could you just e-mail me. I found some deals that sound to good to be true, I am thinking they must be restamps, an I have been told guys are doing this. I would like to get a real carb not some restamp. thanks

The hard part is that the restamps have gotten very good. I used to be able to tell a restamped carb by feeling the backside of the airhorn. There would be a small raised place on the backside of the numbers. Not today. At least one of the rebuilders/restampers has gotten so good that I cannot feel the raised area. It will be real tough to detect a restamped carb today. Good thing is that it has made prices a little more reasonable.Dick Whittington -

They are doing a real good job with the Q-Jets also. I looked at one this weekend in Kissimmee and it was totally undetectable. Did not get the scope out and magnify it, but to the naked eye perfect.Dick WhittingtonComment

who are they? just individuals, are rebuilders? that is something no one will fess up to me. no w dont sell restamps! but the talk is that they do, even that famous place in chicago, told me no restamps. well maybe some one is restamping old cores some where!Comment
