    Spark Plug Compression Washers (installing)

When you buy new AC Spark Plugs, they come with new compression washers. What is the correct way should they be put onto the plug? If you look at them very close, It looks like they are a two piece washer. One washer is larger then the other one. What way should they be put onto the plug? (Smaller side out to plug, larger side against block?) Does it matter?

The larger ring side is for the plug side ( it's flat ) like wise the smaller ring side to the head ( it's smaller & tapper)
