3858533 pulley on 64 L65?

    3858533 pulley on 64 L65?

    Is the 3858533 the proper crankshaft pulley for a 64 L76 Hi perf.?

    Chris,

    Unless you have a late build 64, the 3858533 is probably not the correct part number. The original 3766987 was used through 63 and probably most of 64 until it was replaced by the 3858533 on 8/64. The actual time of change on the assy line may have been slightly different than the date on the paperwork.

        What's up with the 2-letter suffix on the part #

        My November '64 L76, with finned harmonic balancer stamped H64, (lost 6 weeks during the strike) has only the GM part #, and NOT the two letters I often see following the part number stamping on pulleys.

        Anyone have an explanation ?
