    Carb tags

Sold these Carb Tags 1954 on E-Bay for $171.00 I thought I would get $30.00 for them or nothing. Love that E-Bay. Now I understand why Corvettes sell for more then $10,000.
I've been selling little parts that I thought were worth $5 or $10 dollars at ten times what I would take or get at any swap meet.
I've sold many little original parts having the factory logos.
Shows me some people still buy original parts.

Yea I'm the nut who bid up the tags for my boss who has a DUNTOV 54 nad needs them. We had to outbid someone else, so you made out well. You are right Ebay is amazing sometimes.

Another way to look at it is, it's a whole lot cheaper to pay more on eBay than to buy an airline ticket and rent hotel rooms for a few days at Carlisle or Florida just to pay a lower price for a part. Plus the time off from work.

On the other hand there is something to be said for being with friends, with 10,000 other Corvette enthusiasts and the knowledge transfer available.

Sorry you had to pay a stupid amount in my eyes . Never thought they were that rare , if I took them to a swap no body would even noticed them ? E-Bay is a great place to sell little parts because people LOOK.

Roy, it is the little things that make a quality restoration. I see and judge so many good restorations that lack the little details that make the car a fantastic restoration. I have spent all day hunting for screws and bolts to finish restorations. Keep on with the little things.

Dick your right when I sold parts at swaps , I could tell if a person was nearly done restoring their Corvette by what they were looking for (little parts) .
It's so easy to find them missing on a Corvette when a Corvette is near perfect.

I hope you bring out some neat trinkets at the Regional in CA and at Park City. I enjoy seeing the treasures that you have found
