    66 BB Engine re-build

    I'm considering rebuilding a 427/390 HP engine. I live in So. Cal. Does anyone know a good engine builder, someone familiar with these engines. Also, does anyone have any ideas on whether the engine's specs should be kept as close to original or modified. Finally, has anyone heard of Derek Smith. He is from Ohio and builds Corvette engines.

      While Hector has your attention. I will be at the same point he is currently within the next few months (a '66-427/390 Rebuild). However I am in St. Louis, Missouri. Can anyone recommend a reputable rebuilder in the St. Louis area?

              Superior Performance in Anaheim, I can give you their # if you like, I'm in Mission Viejo, CA. Not cheap, but they work with these engines all the time.
