    Re: RE-PO Coils

I think that you will find the function acceptable but there are visible differences in the configeration of the tops where the connections are. I believe that there was an article in the Corvette Restorer recently that had photos and a description of the variations

        I have one on mine,

a "086" repro I got from MaryJo. Even under a glass, seems to be good enough for "flite", and I installed it when I last tuned up the engine. It now runs better than it has since the engine was new in 1972, maybe better.

The 086 repro is nice and good for flight judging, I have one , but I found one NOS on E-Bay no one bided , $80.00 . it's more like a nickel plating -a bit shiny then the repro.which has a repro .covering. Conner first did them

Figures, after a year or more

of searching eBay, an NOS 086 came up, I was high bidder (at a lot more than $80) and somebody "swooped" me 30 seconds before the end of bidding. I was so bummed at getting burned after such a long search, I called Mary Jo the next day.

On balance, though, I got an NOS 55 volt regulator on eBay about the same time for the cost of the typical service replacement. Never seen one before or since, not even used.
