    Re: And the answer is....

    Gary,
Now I KNOW I'm going blind! The page just before the 58-59 section is page 204 and there's no hint of what you're talking about. It's a table of '57 Corvette Configuration Statistics. Maybe I've got an earlier issue. I've had it for a number of years. Mine is Copyright 1980, first edition, second printing. Sorry for the confusion!

                        Gentlemen,
I had a very interesting afternoon today. I'm putting my '59 back together and decided to tackle my wiper transmissions because of the excellent write-up that was included in this thread earlier by Larry P.. My buddy and I had never tackled this job before, so we thought we'd give it a try. First of all both sides were totally seized up and would not release. The job took us 4 hours to do (3 1/2 hours on the first side and 1/2 hour on the other!)

Now that the job is complete, I have a much better understanding of how these critters work. There's a lot of stuff going on inside! I had always wondered how you can push in on the shaft and have the wires tighten up! But now I know!

                        Thanks a bunch, Larry.....
