Hi all -
This afternoon, I started to insert the vent window glass into the frame on my '63. The thought of pounding on priceless (to me) glass with a mallet while juggling the fragile frame and trying to guide the rubber seal was daunting.
So I took a piece of scrap 3/4" ply, traced the frame onto it, and cut a template. Check out the picture - pretty straightforward. I left extra room around the post. There is also a small notch adjacent to the frame hinge to avoid breaking that off. And the "push bar" has a groove for the glass to keep the whole affair from popping up off the WorkMate as I squeezed it home.
I used detergent on the rubber seal, and it was completely seated in less than a minute.
