VIN codes

Is there anyway to determine the build history (day,factory etc) directly from the VIN#? In my case the car is a 60.

I have one of the last built 59's and tried the VIN for the "birthday" on the link provided. The result was August 10 1959. In that era (1950-60's), I thought the factory ended production prior to August to prepare for the next years model, build cars and have product delivered for the September introduction of the new model year.

The last car in July was 9437 and the last car in August was 9670. The 1960 started in October.
