Re: Pictures: The 60 corvette again.
The frame is excellent. Coming from 8 miles of gravel roads and put out of use, 1966, before salt was used in Montana. The front fender on the pass. side had an altercation with a cow. The bovine rubbed its derier up against the emblem and cracked the fender. The emblem was ripped off. I don't know about the derier, I think it's hamburger. So the story goes. You are correct, the body is in great shape. The dash, door panels, seats are shot. I am amazed at the condition of the chrome and potmetal pieces after windex and polishing. I oxi-cleaned the body with a brush. Thanks- Top

Re: Pictures: The 60 corvette again.
Thanks Larry: You are right. Like the Mecum auction this last summer in Fairfield, Iowa. The deceased owner gathered up all these cars. Over 100 cars, muscle cars, 55-57's etc., 9 of the cars were 53-67 corvettes. He never restored, to my knowledge, one of these cars. Just gathered. Probably got them dirt cheap, and now his heirs can enjoy his money from them. I work with a man who has stored his 67 coupe for about 15 years. 27000 miles on the car, stored in his pole barn, dirt floor and plenty of mice. The corvette is covered in dirt with 2 bicycles on the hood. It is now a workbench. He will not sell, believe me, I've tried. Another auction?- Top

Re: Pictures: The 60 corvette again.
I know where there is a 67 L-89 coupe (real car) in the same shape. Parked in the late 70's, buried under piles of junk. Owner will run you off if you even mention the car. SadDick Whittington- Top

Re: Pictures: The 60 corvette again.
I just discovered a 56 in similar condition about 15 miles from me here in Oklahoma. The top was stolen years ago, still sitting, hostile owner, rotting car. He has other desirable cars, 55 Nomad, 60's muscle cars, all rotting.
Yes, there are some still out there. Getting them can be a challange.
