It is my understanding that the BB slanted valve cover appeared sometime in 68 production. Was it only used on cars that had power brakes? Any other comments welcome? Thanks, Terry

Re: BB slanted valve covers?
the 1967 style valve cover had a triangular area that involved one drivers rear corner of the cover. The 1968 style had the entire rear end of the drivers cover cut off straight across. The change between 1968 and 1969 was in the location of the stands for the spark plug wire supports.
Since Tonawanda didn't know which cars had power brakes, it is my understanding that all the drivers covers had the depression. On my P.B. 1970, the brake booster doesn't interfere with the cover anyway - go figure!
The cheapie repro covers on e-bay have the 1967 style booster cutout, but they are chromed and the real 1967 parts were not.- Top
