On my 65 coupe the lower front windshield cage is rusted pretty good. The front windshield leaked when I bought the car 20 years ago. I had the leak fixed but the damage was already done. I am looking to replace the lower front cage . Thats where the dash bolts to. I've tried Caledonia Classic Cars, Pacific Corvette and a few others no luck in finding this part. Anyone have any ideas on where I could try and find it. Also is the coupe and roadster the same for this part. I am in the middle of a frame off and time is on my side on this, as I won't be needing the part for about 6 months. Thanks Mike

Re: lower front windshield cage
Might try Gary Steffens at Corvette City, Denver, (303) 762-8388. In addition to repair/restoration, he builds vintage racers where MASSIVE cut/chop is par for the course. Usually has a few no-title bodies laying around as donors for jobs in progress/cars on the track....- Top

Re: lower front windshield cage
Thanks Jack, No luck though but I'll have to keep checking with them from time to time to see if they have any cages they are parting out. Joe also give me a good place to try Caledonia classic cars but no luck there either. If anyone knows of any others please let me know either by email or post. Thanks Mike- Top

Re: lower front windshield cage
Mike----
First off to answer one of your questions, the lower windshield frame, GM #3845846, is the same for both coupes and convertibles for all 63-67 model year Corvettes.
Another place you might check with, although I would think that Caledonia would have had this information, is CSC Reproductions of Rocky River, OH. Their phone is 440-331-8939. CSC manufactures many Corvette stamped steel reproduction parts. They currently manufacture EXCELLENT reproductions of the 68-82 upper windshield frame and upper corner pieces. By this summer or earlier as I have been told, they plan to have on the market the complete pillar posts(which include windshield side frame). Of course, all this won't do you any good since this is all for 68-82. However, perhaps they have some plans for 63-67. Let me know what you find out.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
