1962 Heater switch

I need some electrical advice. My heater fan operates at high speed on both settings of the switch. I assume I need to replace the resistor on the switch?? Does anyone have the values for the resistor I need ? Any other thoughts are appreciated.

John, somewhere I have seen a value of 50 watts for this resistor. I have no idea whether this is an accurate number or someone's guess. It might be a place to start.

The resister reduces the voltage , slowing the motor , so your's must be burned out. Many early GM cars used the same switch and cable. Most repro's comes from cars.TO tell if a repro was installed in your Corvette most have four connections ,Corvette has two ,if you pull the knob out tightly the motor will run ,but the original will not.
You can remove the back and cable from the repro , from each unit and switch them if your cable is broken or bad on the original one.
