    C2:67 Spring Carburetor Project

Thought I'd share a few photos of my spring project. In the photo below

are two 3810 carburetors. The one on the left is a replacement dated (0869) 3810 which I recently replated. The one on the right is an original dated (751) 3810 which I just acquired, and which is pretty close to my June 29,1967 convertible. I've been looking for a 3810 in my date range and this 751 is the latest 3810 I've found.

Object of my project is to make the one on the right look like the one on the left.

    Take a look at this
Someone brazed on a manual choke lever on this 3810.

And the throttle side is almost as bad:

And here's my garage plating setup:

I'll keep you guys advised of my progress (I work slow and I'll probably need to scavenge some parts and ask a lot of questions), but maybe I'll do a story when I'm finished.

      Wayne,

The Crock Pot is for the SP Degreaser (like TSP). You heat it up for parts dipping before plating to about 180-200 degrees. A Crock Pot is perfect for this. I got it at the local dump recycling store for $2. Wish they had a bigger one, would have paid 3.
