I'm considering placing an order for some 1962 tuxedo or salt and pepper black carpeting from this company. The archives have very mixed opinions on this company and the quality of their carpeting.

Has anyone placed any orders with Romeo in the past 6 months?

I tried to place an order 2 months ago. I couldn't get through to them. I left several messages for a return call,that never happened either. after a few tries i gave up an used Al Knock.

Chris - Suggest Auto Custom Carpets (who I believe supplies to) Al Knock in the case of the carpets you're seeking. I have no experience with the Romeo Company, so have no opinion. Best, Dennis

I haven't ordered from Romeo in the last 6 months. I do not intend to ever order from them again. I placed an order for carpet for a 69 and waited 6 months and had to cancel the order because I needed carpet for Flight judging at the Nationals in Hersey in 2003. I had to settle for carpet from ACC. Their quality is not what it used to be. Their carpet is very thin. You can see though it when held up to the light. Perhaps carpet for a 62 is better quality. I would suggest that whoever you use that you get a sample of the carpet.

If ACC makes the carpet for Al Knock, then is it reasonable to assume that the AK carpet is of the same poor quality as the ACC or does AK have different specs that ACC makes it to? The real question is, does AK charge more for the same carpet that you can get from ACC for less? Every little bit helps.

To the best of my knowledge (but what do I know?) Al has his own carpet made. ACC supplies Ecklers, C Central, Mid America with their carpet.

I just ordered a set for my 69 from Romeo engineering. According to them and other past links here they have the most correct carpet- imco logo, bindings etc. I haved used AK and ACC in the past. I preferred AK over Acc for fit and color match but decided to give Romeo a try. Should I have?

ACC announced about six months ago that they would no longer supply bulk roll stock to any competitor that made finished carpets. They are not the same company they were before the plane crash

Did they quote you a delivery date? Delivery seems to be their key weakness.

I seem to remember from another thread that they make up everything on custom order basis only. They have no pre-made products to ship immediately. Most likely the reason for the long ship dates. Anyone else remember this?
