I hae an original '67 chevrolet, dealer's sales brochure in which there is a chart listing engine and axle ratios. According to it, with regards to the 427 engine in '67, the 390HP was not available with the 3.70:1,(except in powerglide), but was with the 400 and 435HP engine. Can anyone confirm this information?

Re: '67 ENGINE & REAR END RATIO OPTIONS
Tom,
I understand the codes for the axle ratios. I wanted to verify the information in the dealer brochure indicating that the 3:70 ratio was not available in the 390HP, except with powerglide. Thanks...- Top

Re: '67 ENGINE & REAR END RATIO OPTIONS
According to the NCRS pocket spec, the 3:70 axle ratio was a "special" option for the 4 speed, with L36.
It was only available with the (2:20:1 low) 4-spd, not the (2:52:1 low) 4-spd.
I'm not sure that refers to M21, & M20 respectively or not.
It was also available with the powerglide, as you stated.
It was also a "special" option for the 400hp.
It was a "performance" option for the 435hp.- Top

Re: '67 ENGINE & REAR END RATIO OPTIONS
The ECL charts show the 3.70 Posi axle was available with L36 and Powerglide as G81YA, and with either L-36 or L-71 as G81NA; it wasn't shown as available with a 4-speed in the chart in the sales brochure (which didn't show "special order" combinations), but it shows as available on an L-36 with M21 in the Chevrolet Engineering Specifications, the AMA specifications, and in the Dealer Ordering Information Guide/Motor Vehicle Price Schedule as "Special Order".- Top
