    Trim Codes

Can anyone tell me what hthe B30 means on my trim code?

My trim tag appears as follows:

    Cheverolet B30

Christopher without knowing the year model to give you actual month of production, B refers to the 2nd month of production. 30 is the 30th day of the month.

        Re: Trim Codes

For a '76, B30 means the body build was completed on September 30th, 1975; came off the line a day or two later.

            Re: Trim Codes

The letter prefix on the build date code refers to the sequential month of production beginning with the first production month of the model year (usually August, with some exceptions), not the first month of the calendar year. For '76, "B" is September. If your '73 code is "C", that was October, 1972; March for a '73 would be "H", for March '73. No such date as February 30th.

              Re: Trim Codes

i believe you are absolutely correct. as i am not home right now, i was thinking my car had a C, but now that you mention it, i does have H30 on trim tag. of course many of the other components have a C (like the flywheel)
it sure makes it confusing sometimes trying to determine whether it is a calendar date or production date code......rick
