    66 Windshield Washer Nozzles

Checked archives but found no answer. Newbie to the hobby, and the car is being stored off-site. I purchased the TIM/JG for my year car, but wanted to get your collective answer as well.

Where are the washer nozzles located? I've seen drawings that look like they're outboard of the wiper arms. I think the book says they come out from under the cowl grills. reason I'm asking is I don't recall seeing them at all on my car. The pump is there and the washer fluid bottle etc., etc. Just don't see the nozzles.

    Thanks

they insert thru the wiper trans assembly shaft's grills and are astened with a nut on the underside. originals have nozzels that are aim-able, old repo's don't. mike

      Re:

The nozzles sit on top of the grill. The hoses run under the grill to the pump. If you are going to have to buy the nozzles make sure the ball rotates. I believe Corvette Specialties of Maryland has the correct repo.

        Thanks,

Seems obvious that they're missing. I would see two chrome pieces sticking out above the grill.

Would you tell me exactly where to attach them? Are they dead center of the grills?

tim: the grills are drilled and offset in only one place on the grill to accomidate the nozzels. they don't fit between the openings of adjacent grills. mike

They go in the single hole about 1/4" outboard of the large hole for the wiper transmission.

Anyone inspected the new repros up close?

Has anyone seen the new repros up close? They have the movable directional ball. There was a set for auction on e-bay this past week that didn't sell for around $50. Anyone know what the vendor sells them for not via auction?

              Thanks,

              Gary

The ebay seller is Brian, owner of Corvette Specialties of MD. I have a set and I like them.

Yeah, I got a pair from Corvette Specialties of Maryland. They sell them for $59. The ones on ebay are from Corvette Specialties as well. They keep a set on ebay all the time, so just wait until nobody bids and pick 'em up for $52. They look dead on to me, but I'm certainly not qualified to be a judge.

                    Harry; a follow-up question

                    Harry,

Do you think your typical NCRS judges will consider them dead nuts on in terms of cosmetics compared to originals? I'd love it is this was the case. Also, do you know how much Corvette Specialities of Maryland gets for them normally?

                      Re: Harry; a follow-up question

Gary, just got home. I took an original and one of Brian's. I used the glass I use for fly tying. I can not see and difference, they are spot on. Corvette Specialties will be at Carlisle this year as usual. If you can wait till then ask Brian to bring a set for you to look at if you will be there. Try to order a set for inspection, just a thought.

I've done some, limited, judging on mid-year cars and I would not see a difference, how others would I'm not sure. Maybe the fresh chrome would give them away?

Gary, another thought. If you look at the price of originals on ebay, they have dropped in price considerably. This may be because Brian's are that good.
