i have a 66 roadster, 327/300hp original engine car, build date oct 6 1965, engine is coming out for a rebuild and the starter just failed, i'm trying to find out if i have the correct starter, number is 1107389, then a space 6 space 1 space 3, next line is delco-remy, next line B 3, thanks to anybody who can help, joe

The '66 Judging Guide calls for all SB starters to be PN 1107320 with the date code format being YMDD where Y is calendar year number, M is the alpha code for the month (A-M without I being used) and DD is the numeric day of the month....- Top

Starter GM #1107389 originally started out in life serving the starting needs of a 1967 Cadillac Eldorado. It's very possible that all that remains of the original starter is the frame (i.e. the barrel-shaped section with the numbers stamped on it). Likely, this starter has been through a commercial rebuilders' rebuilding operation. In that case, the numbers on the frame mean absolutely nothing; they're just a vestige of "what once was".In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
