frame shim markings

i am doing a frame off restoration on my 73 coupe. i have read somewhere that the factory quit using "slashes" for shim marks sometime in the early 70's (i.e 3 slashes meaning 3 shims etc) and went to numeric markings (i.e. the number 3 for three shims) does anyone one know what would be correct for this 73 frame? thanks! rick

In 1969 the factory used numbers to designated the appropriate number of shims

thanks for the information....do you know, or does anyone else know if they stayed with that or went back to the slash marks?? rick

By 73, the factory was using numbers to denote the number of shims. 69 was the last year for slash marks.
