Roy thanks for all the posts. Keep'em coming. They are a good source of data for those of us that do not have the archive of data/knowledge that you have!

Roy, I personally find your articles/posts very interesting and appropriate. You share info and the reader has the choice of not viewing or viewing--I normally view (who else but a few have NCRS member numbers dated BC).

My brief experience at restoring my 58 is that there is a lot of "close-hold" info out there somewhere. I am sure that a lot of the older guys are just tired of providing the same old answers to the same old predictable questions for C1's. Or, the same old answers to the same old folks who make up the majority of this board's discussion audience. I mean this with a positive understanding.

I have no idea as to the NCRS's ability to attract younger and new blood but from my distant perspective, I don't see it. I have two son's who have corvettes and I can see them going to something like the corvetteforum before going to our discussion board. Neither of them are very mechanically inclined nor would they really know enough to know what questions to ask. They would rather just drive thir corvettes versus make sure they had the "correct" door post. For me, I now know that two of the three door posts that I have are correct for my car. Thanks. Got any other "good" 58 tricks. Oh, it is kinda cold here in Texas too--might hit 67 degrees by the weekend!

Steve much appreciated, I feel at times people may not like me just posting some of the stuff I do, but I don't mine being wrong ,which I've been in the past and continual too, .I like a "little" argument now and then, but that's how some one learns, that's my 2cents

Re: C1 door post if interested BILL

NCRS is just a great place for people to share info holding seminars on particular subjects .
I wish they would have one on just a (Q & A SEMINARE) for say C1, C2. C3 and so on , so people attending ,could can ask a question , then some one goes to the front of the room and answers what they think and this would continual back and forth .
That way many Q and A could be discussed by other members wonting to know a particular thing, because most seminars only cover one thing. Some thing on the line like we do here!!

Some one on this forum must know some one that can talk to some one that knows some one to ask NCRS some thing!!

                          Roy,

Your type of information and the effort to share it is very much appreciated. I have been restoring cars, motorcycles and tractors for years and it's the details that count. I especially love the "detective work"; learning about the uniqueness of any machine while helping to restore its original soul. I am not a kid anymore (46) but the most satisfying thing about the hobby is turning the key, stepping on the brakes, listening to the engine, or any of the myriad other mechanical complexities and knowing that my hands touched and somehow made it better. Mine was originally born of necessity having to build and maintain my own cars for lack of cash. But now that I can afford it, I still thrive on feeding the need to get my hands dirty and my mind pumping. Of course, an occasional string of epithets when things are not going well can also be cathartic!

                          Best wishes,
                          Mike Bovino

P.S. Besides two "regular" cars used daily, my stable includes a '61 Corvette, '59 Oliver tractor, '59 Oliver backhoe, '70 Bultaco Matador, and '74 Bultaco Alpina, all which have been lovingly restored and used. There have been many others in the past. I'm glad that I have an understanding wife!
