Paint advice

Hi all!

I have a 76 C3 that I would like to get painted. The current paint is starting to chip around the door handles, and I never liked the color much to begin with.

1. Does anyone have any good recommendations in the Cincinnati,Ohio area?
2. I've never had a car painted, any tips on picking out the good folks from the bad?
3. What is a fair price for a paint job? (no body work)?
4. Would anyone recommend or recommend against me removing trim/parts to save on the labor cost?
5. How about getting the old paint off and down to the primer? Something worth doing? I have air tools.

Don,

If it were mine I would just have the chips touched up. I think your car is very sharp as it is, and I really like the green with tan interior. I would just drive and enjoy. JMHO.

If you want to change colors, you definitely need to remove all of the trim. It's not a hard job if you want to do it yourself. Just be careful when putting everything back on and use tape on the finish to avoid scratching.

Stripping is a very nasty messy big job, but it will save some coin if you do it yourself. Just be prepared for about 40 hours of very hard work. Remove all trim prior. Place a large plastic tarp under the car. Use only stripper that is specifically for fiberglass.

Don't know of any painters in Cinci so I can't help there.
