Camshaft 12353929. I am sure this is a replacement, but I'm not sure of the target engine it is designed for.

I can find no record, at all, of any part of GM #12353929. Are you sure that you have the number right? If you are taking this number off of a stamping found on the end of a camshaft, that could be the problem. In that case, it's the part number for the camshaft, alone, which was never available seperately in SERVICE.

Many camshafts of this part number series exist. However, they are all sold by GM as part of a kit which includes the lifters. So, the part number that I have reference to is the part number for the KIT and not the part number for the camshaft which is part of that kit. The part number for the camshaft is an "internal" GM number that I don't have information on.

The only other number I can find with the doc. is a GRIND number and that is 12364050.

That's better. GM #12364050 is a Crane-manufactured "clone" of the L-79 camshaft, originally GM #3863151.
