I'm looking at purchasing some "PPG Duracryl acrylic lacquer" for repainting the exterior of my 66 coupe. Presuming it's painted by someone who know what they're doing, will use of the Duracryl acrylic lacquer result in a finish that looks correct from a judging perspective for a '66 car? I'm guessing that the "Duracryl" modifier is a relatively recent addition to the paint formulation and wasn't part of the mix in 1966.
I know some of the constituents in lacquer paints have changed over the years, but is the Durarcyl as good as it gets given current EPA regulations?
For the door jams, is it simply a matter of adding flattener to the Duracryl lacquer?
Thanks,
Gary
