    C1 Wonderbar Radio

I'm thinking about having my radio converted to a AM FM stereo has anyone done this? The company that offers this service is Antique Automobile Radio out of Palm Harbor Florida.

Now and then you find on e-bay a FM relay unit of the 50 or 60's that you place under your dash that converts any AM Rdaio to FM for a car. Cost run about $50.00.

I used to have one in my '68 camaro back in the 60's. Basically you tune your AM radio to a specific frequency and the FM tuner then feeds the signal to the AM radio. They work pretty good but naturally you have the same sound quality as the AM radio.

My car has a Passenger Car Wonderbar in it that I had converted to AM/FM with RCA jacks on the back of it for a CD player or MP3 player. It works great. I don't think I would cut up a Transister Vette Radio but my tube type passenger car radio got chopped. Basically it's the old case with all new guts and the old face plate. I think the guts are Bowes. Contact me if you need info.

I put a Am-FM-CD pioneer Radio under the original Radio in my 55 along with 3in speakers at each dash corner (cant be seen) and the Changer in the right rear trunk fender. I use a little remote switch that turns on and works it. Love it!!
