C2 L79 Valve Cover bolts

The TIM&JG specifies "M" Hex head bolts for valve cover fasteners. I seem to remember an article that said that some had philips head bolts. Does anyone know of any such configuration?

The JG is correct. The last engines that used phillips head screws in the covers was mid 63. From that point on, it was hex head for C2.

My L79 67 has the "M" headed bolts. I am missing one of these and have looked all over. I can't tell you how many boxes I went through at the January Kissimmee meet. Know where I can get just one more original for my car?

Thanks for your reply. Yes I bought a set of repro valve cover bolts.

No they don't look "dead on" from the originals, that is why I am looking for one more original one.

I bouught mine from Paragon and they passed flight judging in Windsor last summer.Mike

Mike a quick question. Would a 63 327/250hp with an April 20th build date have Phillips head screws or the hex head bolts?
