I use a burp-gun regulated down to 15-20 psi and a .401" shank 3/16" rivet setter; most Corvette body rivets are 3/16" soft aluminum - Doc Rebuild and Paragon have the correct soft rivets.

Adding to what John has posted. McMaster Carr sells a rivet setting tool. It has a concave face and holds the rivet head (round head rivets) when using the old fashioned hammer methode. Worked well for me.

Using an Air Hammer, Shanks can be purchased form several corvette suppliers or Aircraft Tool supply ( they are on the web). Use a steel back-up block or a hammer head will do. Set the pressure at 15 - 35 psi and use 3/16 dia. X 1/2 or 9/16 long soft alum. rivets. Hold the trigger until the concave tool bottoms out. Best not use your wife to hold the back-up block....
