    WCFB ID.

I've stumbled across a rather nice WCFB. I just can't figure out what it is from. The air horn is 6-1575 and the body is 0-1342. Any ideas?

    Thank You

    Harry------

I can't tell you what its application is but I can tell you that I don't think it's for a Chevrolet application. These carbs were used on all other GM car lines, so it's likely for one of the others.

harry: most wcfbs used on c-1's had 049 embossed on the left front corner area of the main body.the c-1 judging manuals discuss casting #s on the various carb parts. mike

        Re: WCFB ID.

As others have said, it's not a 'Corvette' carb configuration, but the air horn and body cast numbers generally date the carb's usage to the early '60 era. Other car lines at GM (including the 'competition' like Studebaker), also used Carter WCFB so it probably has an application 'somewhere' PLUS it could be a Heinz 57 carb (ran down an independent carb rebuilder's reverse assy line resulting in body + air horn being mated for general functionality vs. factory originality reasons)....

Thanks all. I should have mentioned in my post that I had already been through Chevy and Corvette by the Numbers. Didn't mean to waste you time on that. Just thought it might be recognized as a old Mopar piece.

          Thanks again
