I have my orig fuel tank out and is un real shape.
I ran it a guy at St Charles who used a shop that will re tin the tank
He was in Indiana.
Any suggestions for a shop that will re tin my tank ?
No - I dont want to rattle can it.
Thanks

I wouldn't bother "re-tinning" it (whatever that is); the coil stock the tank was made from was originally "terne-plated" (lead and zinc alloy), and when that plating deteriorates, corrosion and pin-holes aren't far behind. For all the hassle involved, I'd just put a new Quanta tank in it and move on.

Car is a 54 - Quanta does not make a replacement.
I would like to retain the orig tank and have it dipped or plated or ???
Any suggestions ?

I just got my 54 tank back from a shop and it looks like new-for $280. I live in Maine and the radiator shop sent it out to Canada. Probably won't help you much, but if you contact me I will search out the Company if you like.
