I want to replace the front window felt in the door posts. Do you just drill out the rivets? What do you use to re-attach the felts? 1958 TIA Ken

Re: C1 Window Felt
Ken,
The door post almost has to be removed from the door to do this right.
the top couple of fasteners are rivets and then there are some small screws in the lower positions. It is almost impossible to remove and replace these fasteners without reomving the post. If you decide to do this, drop me an email, and I will try and give you a detailed sequence to remove the post. This will also probably require replacement of the door weatherstrip, and will require touching up the paint where you have to remove the fiberglass plug that hides the attaching bolt. If you decide to try this with the post in place, you will need to remove the window glass and look down in the channel and try and find the screws and remove them from inside of the door. Driving and bucking the new rivets must be done very carefully, and you will have to make a custom flush rivet set that will go down in the channel to drive the rivet head.
