    C1 Horn and Wipers

    Reading Roy Bratz's answer on a 55 horn question several days ago prompts this message. I have a 56 and am trying to repairs Bubba's mistakes. Yes I was trying to use 55-56 Car horn parts to fix the horn button. Where can I get a Corvette horn kit? My usual suppliers don't have one listed. Also is there a exploded picture for an 56-57 steering column to show the parts Roy talks about? I don't see one in the AIM or ST-12.
    My 56 doesn't have any way to mount the wiper transmissions. Bubba did something. I know ST-12 shows an underdash lip for this purpose but doesn't indicate if it is fiberglass or metal. I need some help or advise on this. Its tough when things are completely gone.
    Help! Roy and/or others are welcome to reply.

      Try coping from a book ( not so good) but the trans has a cup like thing that can slide around and two screws hold the bracket to the dash .Then the outer chrome bezel and retaining nut pulls the trans unit up and tight.
      The 53 up to 57 are all the same wiper transmissions. Also the wiper motor looks and is the same as 55 for early 56

          Allen--I posted the thread about the 53-55 horn beeping kit.
          Roy told me how to determine the correct one (or at least the bad one. ) I do not know where to get the correct one but i can tell you where not to get it. I got my from Mary Jo in California who only sells corvette stuff from early cars and hers was the wrong one. I have not talked to her to tell her she is sending out the wrong one but I will.

              Thanks for the response Roy. My problem with the wipers are I have nothing to bolt the transmission bracket to. There is no lip or anything under the dash to bolt that transmission bracket. I guess bubba ground it away or something. I was going to maybe bond a piece of metal to the underside of the dash. Any comment? Better idea?
