    C1 doorpanel alignment

hello all iam new to you on the forum
i am from the netherlands and restoring a 60 vette ,
my question is: iam fitting the doorpanels (new AK's)
and they doesnt align well to the inner door garnish moulding
it doesnt fit tightly to the garnish moulding, 1/16' off on some places

is this normal on C1's ?

    thanks Sander,

    Re: C1 doorpanel alignment

HI Sander, Welcome to the gang, as we say in Brooklyn, even though I live in Arizona now. I have a 1958 & my doors work great, the car has never been hit & I will not do a body off resoration even if it needed it to be restored. I think it is very hard to get any cars to align properly if you have a body off restoration, or the car was in an accident. I'm sure some of the guys on this board will try to help you. There are some real craftsman here. Do you know Rob M ?
Rob is from the Netherlands as well, he emailed me yesterday. He has his own web site called the Corvette registry, I think that is the name. If you need me to, I can look it up & put you in touch with him. I think he restored a C 1 & he would be a good person for you to connect with, his site even has a weblog. I haven't had the time to visit it yet. I have been busy getting my car ready to be Flight judged on March 19th, it will be my 1st time. So I am really trying to learn alot in a short amount of time. I only got my 58 in September. I had 3 C 2s, all BB when I was 17. That was more than 30 years ago, I got alot of catching up to do. Good luck & let me know if you would like to get in touch with Rob.
    Cheers,
    Deb

        I assume the blue one
