    C3 Rochester Date Code

    I have a Rochester Quadrajet carb with part# 7029207.
The date code is 3477. The 7029207 is a '69 production year carb, but the last digit indicates otherwise. Was the production year just stamped incorrectly?

No, it is a service carb (replacement) that was built in 1977. I have also have a 1977 built 7029207, so there must have a been a production run of these carbs at that time.

Bummer! I was thinking of selling it, but it's probably not worth that much now. Thanks for the info.

        Mike and Pat
That also could 87 or 97 ,that carb was beuilt until 1998 as a replacement carb. I learned a lot about this part # about a year ago when I was looking for one myself.Joe Lucia gave me a lot of insight on it.

That carb still has a following for it on ebay--there is a market, but not as much as if had a correct 69 date on it. Too bad it wasn't made in 79 or 89.

Mike -- do you have an idea of approximate value?

Generic QJet 'cores' go for $5-50 at the scrap yards, depending on condition....
