I've posted some of this info before, but it's decision time and I thought I'd throw it out one more time. Here's the info on the '66 350hp roadster I've decided to purchase: trim tag J20 STD. S7876 900AA 19467S124597. engine casting#3858174 casting date F46, pad stamping 6124597 F0607HT, transmission with matching vin#, rear end date and code in order. Anyone see anything I'm missing with regard to the above engine information before I finalize the purchase? Not really any documentation to speak of, but it does have an original owner's manual and copies of registrations back to '69. Original, undetailed engine compartment with all correct components except carb. As always I appreciate any responses.

Re: '66 350HP CASTING& PAD STAMP DATES
Rob. Just a suggestion, because it's been made to me by those with alot more experience than I have. I'd hire an NCRS judge to look at the car. I'd also specifically ask to have the Trim Tag and VIN tag authenticated and verify that the proper broach marks are on your engine stamping pad.
I'm going through the same process you are going through, and I'm searching for a '65 327/350 car too.
JMHO.

Re: '66 350HP CASTING& PAD STAMP DATES
Tony,
I had the engine stamping checked by someone well know for his expertise. I've also verified the trim tags. The only concern I really had was the closeness of the casting date of the block and the date on the pad. Never hurst to invite other opinions...- Top

Re: '66 350HP CASTING& PAD STAMP DATES
Block cast date F46 (June 4, 1966) followed by 0607 on the pad (engine assembled on June 7) perfectly ok from what I have read here, seems tight I know, but as some have said on here, they were dropping the blocks in while still warm back then - I think verified same day cast - assembly dates exist. FWIW, my 65 327 has a March 17 block cast date followed by a March 29 assembly date on the pad.65 MM Convertible, L76 (365 hp)- Top

Re: '66 350HP CASTING& PAD STAMP DATES
By coincidence I was interested in another car, same year, color and options. It had a different trim build date (AOS), but the block casting# and pad stamp date were exactly the same as this one. The vin# of course was very close also.- Top
