    Restoration

What might be the best book to purchase which will help when restoring a 67? Thanks

    Re: Restoration

It really depends on your goal with the car. But one to start with is Noland Adams Technical Discussion Vol 2. Check out the back of the Driveline for other ideas.

            Jim,

I like the Corvette Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide. It can be purchased from the NCRS store with a discount to its members. This has correct finishes for parts throughout the car, along with numbers and alot more. Extremely important to restore car to original specs.

Building a support library for 'baby'....

is a GREAT idea! All of the books mentioned are worth your investment in time & $$$. BUT, don't get the mind set that you don't want to 'bother' the judges with your car until it's 'perfect'....

Judging is a service done by club members for their fellow club members and it's a GREAT way to get a snapshot of what you've got BEFORE you begin to chase and change out this/that. This is especially true at the Chapter level where the pace of things tends to be a bit slower and there's less competition for the 'big Kahuna' award!

I say this is the PERFECT time to go have your judged! Remember, at NCRS there is no 'memory' of a car's prior judging. Each time you bring it out, the slate is whipped clean and only the owner gets/sees the full Flight Score Sheet package. This is done to encourage and assist owners in improving on the restoration of their cars!

                          Re: Restoration

Don't forget the 1967 Chassis Service Manual and Chassis Overhaul Manual; those, together with the '67 TM & Judging Guide (which is the standard against which the car is judged), Noland's Vol. II book, and the '67 Assembly Manual, comprise the absolute minimum beginning of the technical library you'll need. The "Restorer" CD is another VERY valuable resource (27 years of restoration articles).

I would add the Chassis Resoration Guide by Joe Tripoli to the list.
