I am chasing some electrical gremlins in my 1966 and decided it may be poor connections at the firewall connectors. I removed the connectors and was pleasantly surprised to see that the connectors didn't look that bad. As recommended in the archives I am using a dremel tool and brush to polish the connectors as best I can.
My question concerns the application of the recommended dielectric grease. Won't a dielectric (non conductor) interfere with the conductivity of these twin lock connectors. The whole point of cleaning these connectors is to eliminate high resistance connection points. Should I put the grease only on the perimeter of the connectors? The archives imply swabbing the whole connector but this seems a step back?
Clarification please.
